The Closer Scores Cable’s Top Returning Drama Telecast of the Summer;
Perception Joins TNT’s Dallas among Cable’s Top Series Launches of 2012

TNT’s blockbuster series The Closer returned for the first of six final episodes last night, drawing 6.1 million viewers, this summer’s largest Live + Same Day audience for a returning cable drama. The Closer was followed by the series premiere of TNT’s new drama Perception, which drew 5.6 million viewers and now ranks behind TNT’s Dallas on the list of cable’s top series launches for the year-to-date.

Among key demos, The Closer averaged 1.2 million adults 18-49 and 1.7 million adults 25-54 in Live + Same Day. The premiere of Perception brought in 1.1 million adults 18-49 and ranks behind Dallas as cable’s #2 drama series launch among adults 25-54 (1.5 million).
